Bagel digital has been something of an idea and a dream for a very long time. They say that there’s never a right time to do anything, so here goes!
I think it’s important to know the person behind the business so you can connect and get to know them on a personal level. So, a little bit about my background in the online world and why we’re here now…
I completed a degree in International Business Management in Southampton, UK which provided me with a really well rounded level of education about business as a whole.
During this time I set up a blog. This was back in 2013… and I still write it now!
Writing my interiors blog has been one of the best journeys thus far. I started my blog when the blogging sphere was relatively young, it was much easier to carve out an online space quickly and ‘influencers’ weren’t yet a thing.
My blog quickly gained momentum and it led to many amazing brand partnerships with the likes of ASOS, Boohoo, Thomas Sabo, Mcdonalds and Domino’s. My traffic exploded!
With that to one side, I self taught myself so much about growing an online presence, traffic, SEO, how to utilise google analytics and my writing, video and photography skills flourished year on year.
I landed my first graduate job as an e-commerce partnership co-ordinator and this is when I really learnt my trade. Within a year I was made a partnership manager and my plethora of skills continued to grow. I worked with over 15 different clients from industries ranging from roofing supplies and children’s toys to a cross stitch website. Each industry I worked with piqued my interest in a different way. There literally is nothing more exciting than getting hold of a new website and identifying and implementing ways to grow online sales.
My team was mostly responsible for new site installs which was businesses which were either completely new start ups or businesses that were established but had no online footprint. Being there from inception with a business is amazing as you get to see the whole journey through, and watch them grow from the very beginning.
It was then time for a new challenge to apply my talents and grow my business skills even further. I was then appointed as a director for an international baby business which I was previously involved in for their marketing in a freelance capacity. When I came onboard, I was responsible for setting up the UK subsidiary of the business, their online sales were previously handled by a third party distributor. Getting everything up and running was an amazing challenge and acomplishment to watch it come together. I was also responsible for all e-commerce channels growth and their global marketing strategy and implementation. Along the way I’ve learnt all about imports and exports, sourcing new products and the impact that a huge celebrity mention of a product can have on your business!
During this time, I’ve continued to write my blog and grow my own personal social channels. This really is a huge passion and hobby of mine, it allows me to keep abreast of updates in social media and I use it as a testbed for ideas and growth which can then be applied to my clients channels.
It’s fair to say that my life is very much spent online. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My talent is being able to look at a business, their products and implement ways to grow online sales and visibility.
I have over 5 years experience in the industry and am continuing to learn and develop as the online world expands.
Lockdown has shown us more than ever before how the online world is very much here, the high street represents a huge amount of volatility and the longer you’re offline the more you have to lose as a business.
If you’re looking to take the plunge online, but just don’t know where to start with SEO, Pinterest Marketing, or if you’re already online but are struggling to get those sales moving, then you’re in the right place. I’d love to hear from you, please drop me an email and we can discuss your requirements.
